When the opportunity arose to breathe life back into a tired period property, we grabbed it with both hands.
Originally built in 1870 ‘The Quillets’ has enjoyed quite the life, with a number of uses recorded over the past 150 years. Unfortunately, age had caught up with the property and both the externals and internals needed some TLC.
Our brief was simple, ‘modernise, but don’t make it look like you’ve done anything’.
A schedule of works consisted of sympathetically restoring the building to it’s once grandeur, by undoing years of unsympathetic workmanship and restoring the properties original features. However, we have to admit that we couldn’t help but add some modern touches to make the building a 21st century home.
As we enter the final stages we’d like to think we’ve stayed true to the brief and have breathed life into this grand old building.
Here’s to another 150 years!
